Join Express Yourself Studios for a relaxed, beginner-friendly hand-building pottery workshop led by teaching artist and Founder Simone Anthony-Brown.
In this hands-on class, you'll learn simple hand-building techniques to create your own one-of-a-kind clay planter—no pottery wheel or previous experience required.
Using premium air-dry clay, you'll shape and assemble a planter approximately 5 inches in size, then personalize it with botanical textures, patterns, and design details using a selection of clay tools and stamps.
Your finished planter will be paired with a houseplant provided by South Street Gardens, giving you a beautiful finishing touch for your handcrafted piece. You'll also receive instructions for drying, optional painting, and sealing your planter at home.
Whether you're planning a creative outing with friends, looking for a unique date activity, or simply want to try something new, this workshop offers a welcoming opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and create something personal.
You'll leave with your handmade clay planter, a live plant, and the confidence to continue exploring hand-building pottery on your own.
