Express Yourself Studios is currently accepting enrollment for Art Exploration our new seasonal (Fall, Winter, Spring) children's art workshop.
Art Exploration is great for children ages 6+ who are interested in exploring different art genres, drawing and painting, mixed media and sculpture. The session meets Wednesdays for 6-weeks, 4:30 - 5:30 devoting 2-sessions to each art form. All materials are included, and sibling rates are available (friends groups welcomed). Spring Classes begin April 8, 2020. Drawing & Painting (2 sessions) Working from still life, photographs, images from art history and/or independent themes and ideas, students will be introduced to specific drawing and painting fundamentals and techniques. These include line drawing, value, shape, pattern, texture, shading and highlighting. While experimenting with a variety tools, media and techniques. Mixed Media (2 sessions) Students will create different, unique and individualized art pieces through a variety of themes and subject matter. Learn many art techniques, while creating diverse and imaginative projects. Projects will include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, clay and numerous mixed media-based concepts, using an array of fun and tactile materials and inspiration from various artists from art history. Sculpture (2 sessions) Enjoy the highly tactile medium of clay! In this hands-on studio program, Students will learn some basic clay, pottery, and sculpture concepts using different tools and hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling, slab construction and modeling. Additionally, students will gain experience working with basic three-dimensional materials, such as clay and wood, paper, wire and fiber. The workshop fee is $200 per child, the sibling rate is $175.
