Rainbow Heart

Materials:


  1.  Acrylic Paints and Paint Brushes
  2.  2 sheets of Watercolor Paper (8.5 x 11 or larger)
  3. Palette (A paper plate will do)
  4. Pencils
  5. Scissors
  6. Water Container (Something to rinse your brushes in)
  7. 1" Foam Brush, art sponge (Or cut a clean household sponge in quarters)
  8. Paper Towels




Directions:



  1. Take one sheet of paper fold it in half, on the folded side sketch a for a heart, this will be your template. The heart can be as large as you would like it to be or you can create a few different size hearts. With your scissors cut the heart(s) out
  2. Position the heart on the second sheet of paper, you can choose to hold your paper in portrait or landscape. If your positioning is how you would like it, tape the heart down (fold small pieces of tape together and place on the back of the heart)
  3. Once the heart is secured use your paint (we selected the colors of the rainbow with the addition of pink) to paint over the heart extending to the background as well. You can use large brush strokes, short brush strokes, use a sponge for texture or use the eraser end of a pencil to create many dots like confetti
  4. Let dry, then gently and slowly peel the heart template up
