Mixed Media & Sculpture Workshop - Tuesday - January 30 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Join us every Tuesday for an exciting weekly art class designed especially for creative kids aged 5 to 8. During this two-hour workshop, from 4 pm to 6 pm, children will dive into the realms of mixed media and sculpture. Each week brings fresh projects, with the first hour dedicated to exploring mixed media techniques, and the second hour dedicated to the fascinating world of sculpting.
What to Expect:
Mixed Media Adventure:
In this workshop, we'll dive headfirst into the realm of mixed media art. Kids will explore graphic elements, including photo copies, text, textures, advertising materials, magazine pages, found treasures, and purchased paper. They'll discover how to blend these elements seamlessly into their compositions, using techniques such as tearing up images, applying paints, and sealing their creations. Each session will have a different theme, covering everything from pop culture to geography and figurative art.
We provide all the essential materials for the workshop, but we also encourage young artists to bring along additional paper, digital images, or any other items they'd like to incorporate into their work. This personal touch will help them express their unique creativity and style.
Sculpting Fun with Clay:
As part of our artistic journey, children will explore hand-building with clay. They'll learn the three main techniques and forming methods: pinching, coiling, and slab building. With these skills they'll create clay projects, crafting both functional items like pots, vases, and bowls, as well as whimsical creations like masks, animals, and more. The possibilities with clay are endless, and this workshop will allow young artists to explore their imaginations through the tactile medium of clay.
