Express Yourself Studios will host in-person and virtually its 14th annual “Celebrate Dr. King: Explore the Dream Through Art” workshop (best for families with children ages 6+).
The workshop will take place Saturday, January 15, 2022, Dr. King's actual birthday! Join us in person between 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM and virtually 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (see specific timeslots in registration). Learn about Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement through the reading of the book “A PLACE TO LAND” by Barry Wittenstein and Illustrated by Jerry Pinkney . Then participate in an art project inspired by the book, exploring the themes of Peace, Equality, Friendship and Community. The first 10 registrants to pre-register by Friday, January 7 will receive a copy of "A PLACE TO LAND." All participants will receive a free Martin Luther King, Jr. poster (poster size may vary) by artist, teacher and activist Adam Johnson Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a day of service, to learn more about The King Holiday visit: https://thekingcenter.org/ Express Yourself Studios will donate $5 from each workshop fee to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
